You may have noticed I came to a dead halt in the original post,
Well, my doctor decided I needed to step out for a few pints.
I seem to remember that being a lot more fun.
Oh well.
It did give me time to mentally fix a design challenge I had not seen coming.
Okay, so when we last left off, we were once again playing in the recycling.
I had, over the weeks months amassed 27 wine boxes.
Those of you who like to remember where you are on a daily basis can use Capris Sun
or any other sturdy container.
One box per pair of shoes, and make sure they are an adequate size.
Take off the front tabs and leave ventilation open in the back.
Get a Minion to do the rest of the boxes.
These were taped in columns, then into a unit, and spray painted.
Tape the outside...
...and spray the inside black to hide dirt.
Heat up the glue gun, because we have a problem here...
The paint started chipping off of the outside.
That hardly looks boudoirs worthy.
So we cut a little fabric to wrap the whole affair and hot glued it like a BOSS.
I'm sure you'll understand that I had to trim it off in a coordinating ribbon.
And there we go!
This will sit on a basket hamper I keep out of season linens in,
so I'll be able to choose my shoes without even bending.
Although I should consider bending more.
One thing at a time.

This is just excellent. I almost bought shoe storage bins at Container Store lat night, then mentally smacked myself saying "Sunny just did this for FREE." :)
I laughed my way through this post - you should have asked for an IV full of Cabernet ;) Feel better lady!!
Poor Sunny, urgh! If only they would decorate the room like ye olde Irish pub, maybe the pints would at least go down a bit easier.
The project came out great - I particularly like that you made it for flats - none of my shoes are heels and so many people tend to show heels in their storage solution.
Now, you should get some kind of super 'greenie' award for that invention...it turned out great!
I do hope you are doing alright, well, as alright as you can get when requiring blood. Please take care. xxoo
