Flammaversary Furniture Face Lifts

Well, I was looking back at all that’s happened in the last year, and we did get a lot done! August 16th will be our Flammaversary! Yep, one year since Chateau Inferno caught on fire and I got the strange notion to share the disaster with the blogosphere. And since Jen over at The Thrifty Home is having a Refinished Furniture Party and is encouraging people to consolidate all of their projects into one post, I thought this was a good time to do a round up. In fact, what do you say we do several in the next two weeks just to see the progress we've made over here in Rehab and review what still needs to be done? I'll still have some new projects to share too, I promise, but then let's finish on August 15th with an actual House Tour so you guys can finally see the place. Sound good? Awesome!

Now, let’s go see what I did with all of my old stuff, shall we? Because unless it was charred beyond recognition, I threw nothing out!

Well, we took bookcases that had a fish tank explode all over them...
...and ended up here.
I took a cast off hamper...
...and made an entry table that also stores all of my photos so we can just grab them on the way out! You know...in case of fire.
Boring white mirrors that came with our new vanities...
...got shell crusted frames and are now ready for the bedroom.
My water damaged chairs in the dining room...
...received an exotic tropical makeover.
Smoke and water had marred and faded my living room sofa...
...which I brought back to life with a few bottles of dye.
 Ugly clearance Chinese garden stools...
...got a slather of chic and fresh white.
 My second hand kitchen stool...
And my fine imported from Sweden cheap IKEA step stool...
...got a beachy washed treatment before taking up residence in the bathroom.
I took the children's old stepper...
Would you have passed this old girl up?
How about after her turquoise face lift?
 Mismatched and peeling patio furniture...
...turned into seaside black elegance.
And lastly, cheapo plastic urns anchored the front yard grouping...
...and helped the chinese delivery guy find my house!

Yep, it's been a lot of work, but the cool thing about rehabbing everything you own? We're so coordinated, inside and out, and all of the rooms are starting to flow perfectly with soothing pops of island shades.
Like any good vacation retreat.

That is perservering in the midst of the storm or the fire I should say. You definitely have a "can do" spirit. I love the mirror transformation.

Fabulous! It's nice to see a bunch of your fabulous projects all grouped together. Well done! There were some on there that I don't remember reading about... and your commentary makes me chuckle, as always. :)
