Plain wooden bookcases.....mismatched baskets.....a woman with a strange craving for spray paint.....intrigued? I somehow thought you might be.
The first bookcase was an early attempt at carpentry and started life as a day bed base. A roommate along the way claimed it and set it upright, adding shelves.
The other two were This End Up purchases that didn't look too bad until the fire. They also had a 40 gallon fish tank on them that apparently suffered heat damage we were unaware of. One of the seams popped in the night and the whole thing emptied. Dandy. We rescued the fish, and at that point, there was just no excuse NOT to drag them outside.
I gathered the baskets and gave them all a couple coats of turquoise. The shelves got a nice unifying spritz of gloss black.
This is the springboard for the whole room.
