Organize it Fast

In 1927 when this house was built as a vacation cottage, people evidently weren't concerned with storage. I have pockets bigger than my closets. There's no basement of course; underground is under water. And attics are not very popular here. So if we own it, there's a specific place for it.
Welcome to Storage Rehab.

Boxes: one of my favorite tricks for stashing clutter. You'd never know that I save greeting cards, candlescaping materials and cartoon action figures, would you? A little paint and ribbon made these faded mismatched babies into a set.
A painted basket and spaghetti sauce jars keep art supplies in order and at my fingertips. NEVER throw away jars. Ever. Just don't.
Where's the remote?
In a garage sale seagrass silverware caddy painted Spa Blue. It also keeps our coasters nearby nicely.
This little octopus has a secret...
...he's hiding our chopsticks! No more getting scuffed up in the silverware drawer.
And this long hair of mine has to go up and out of the way when the spray paint comes out. I'm a huge fan of hairsticks.
A short, square candle holder filled with small polished river rock turns my collection into a display.
Nope, this wasn't rocket science, but it works for us.
How about you? Any amazing organization tricks you'd care to share?

Love these ideas !! I feel your pain. I also have no basement. My master suite closet is 4 foot wide 2 and half foot in depth. There are no closets in the upstairs bedrooms. There is a shared closet (same size as master one) between the rooms in the hallway. There is one walk in closet as attic/storage space off the upper bathroom. Its big enough to walk in take 2 steps and turn around. Thats it.. thats my storage... YAY !! Oh I've got more furniture redos coming up !!

Hey Sunny, the book shelf is up now. Monkey is teething = many interruptions and then my computer is being all weird. It took me forever to get it uploaded once I got it done.

Thank you, Heather, I really appreciate that!

Sunny, I know what you mean about tiny closets. At our old house (150yrs) we have 2 tiny closets. We have bought some vintage armoires to help with clothes storage. Your ideas are very inventive. I got a highboy at a yard sale for fifty dollars and that helps a lot. You are so good at re-purposing.

Sure show up the rest of us with your organization skills! My house is a mess when you open a cabinet. I told my FIL he needs to build me an addition to my house to store all this crap! Thanks for popping over. Debbie

Sunny,

I love your remote basket, how cute and inventive! I love to organize things in my place but I have limited room as I am in an apartment, wah! But the hopes of moving into something bigger one day keeps my hopes high!

Love your blog, you have so much on here, I will be back often!

You take care and have a great day!
Smiles!
Christy
