I've had the same canisters for years- royal blue with sunflowers.
I had been poking around, looking for an updated set.
When my mother asked why, stating that my set was still in style, and that she really liked it,
I knew my suspicions were confirmed.
My current storage set had to go.
How classic was that?
I have a bin of recycling that has potential.
We cleverly call it the Crap Mom Can Make Stuff Out Of bin.
In it are several metal coffee tins.
After removing the label and all the glue residue, this particular one
got 3 light coats of Rustoleum Satin Aqua.
And look what I found at the Dollar Tree!
I snapped up 3 pads of letters.
We're going to make lots of storage containers.
Take a roll of painter's tape...
...and let's create some stripes.
Just follow the lines of the can.
Peel off letters from the pad of foam characters and spell out what you have
every intention of putting in the vessel.
Mine says COFFEE.
Reality will turn that into CAT TREATS.
All set?
Flip it over on your workbench and choose a second color,
like Rustoleum Gloss Berry Pink.
Two coats ought to do it.
Allow this to dry and then carefully peel off the tape and the letters.
Look at those perfect lines.
Look at those perfect lines.
A new canister for garbage and pennies!
I have several air tight containers to do, so if you'll excuse me...

Yeehaw! This is so clever and cute. Adding it to the to-do list. :) It's been a while since I played with garbage. . .
I. LOVE. This!!! Looks really expensive and designer chic. Coffee, shmoffee, cat treats are far more important. But you really don't need every container in the house labelled as such, so keep on making these to fool your visitors. How about 'lobster bisque mix,' 'rough cut diamonds,' and 'magic beans'?
This did come out really cute! Love the super neat stripes and bubbly letters!
Great blog post. It’s useful information. bare necessities reviews
