So Simple It's Scary

Hey there, and Happy Bloggiversary to us!!! 

We're having the tiniest bit of trouble finding our Fall decorations.

I wonder why? Hmmmmmm...

 

So let's whip up some new stuff for a song, shall we? We're going to use 5 of the glass shades that came with a big brass chandelier Vannah and I snagged at a yard sale for a paltry $20 (with the bulbs!) We then took them to the garden center and bought terra cotta saucers as bases. You'll also need black spray paint, contact paper from the Dollar Tree, and some Krylon Frosted Glass spray paint that we had left over from THIS project.

First, take your saucers outside and give the backs a couple of light coats of black paint. Flip them over and do the same to the inside. Allow this to dry.

Then sketch out some seriously scary faces on the back of the contact paper and cut them out.

 You're shaking in your boots right now at how terrifying this is, aren't you?

Peel the backing off of the contact paper and arrange your little faces on the shades.

 Now just spray the shades with a nice light coat of the frosting.

Allow this to dry. Everything will be ready at about the same time.

Once the paint is set, peel off the contact paper.

Set the shade in the saucer, add a flameless candle, and hit the lights!

 Horrifying! Terrible! Nightmare inducing!

 

I had the Minions come up with their own designs.

Which of course makes for a great decoration keepsake.

Nothing like preserving your children's strangeness for all time, eh?

Yeah, I think they're adorable too.

Fast, simple, and seriously inexpensive, plus we found a new use for the shades, because they weren't staying with the chandelier.
