Are You a Fan?

Last weekend was one of those crazy busy weekends where we got a whole lot done, but not all of it was bloggable. I know you know what I mean. Like we installed a dishwasher. We didn't figure you'd really care or want to watch Sam and Sammy wrestle the old one out and force the new one in. And we got a new ceiling fan for the dining room.

This sweet little number. I love the slightly retro styling and the indirect lighting for over the table.
This guy came down. He had to. He'd been hit by the fireman's high powered hose and hadn't worked since. Well, the lights worked, but not creating a breeze made it pretty obsolete.
We skipped the installation DVD. This isn't our first time at the rodeo.
How's that for a close match? And that matches the tabletop as well.
There was, of course, the usual amount of Feline Overlord assistance.
There was a much needed day out to one of our favorite shopping haunts, The Shops at Pembroke Gardens. We already took you on a tour of Z Gallerie; how about a  little stroll through Plaza Design? The store is a little too contemporary over all for me, but there are elements I truly covet, like this cool modern chair. I like how airy it is, and the bonus would be that your friends and family would get up looking like Belgian waffles.
Silk orchids in a glass cylinder with sand, shells, and a candle. How do I not already own this?
Everything here is so luxe and leather, so neat and clean, so sleek and perfect...say, there's no children, husbands or cats in these photos...

Then there was this completely gasp-worthy chandelier. I didn't even look for a price tag.
Seriously, how much fun would this be on a playroom wall? Are you reaching for your modeling clay and wire while staring at the screen?
Or these guys? I love the sense of movement.
We of course had to run in Havana Nines as the hubs has it bad for Cuban shirts. The vibe of the store is pure South Florida. This is our rendition of the Hawaiian shirt.
After a little break from the house, we're ready to dive back in tomorrow!
So, what's on the Weekend To Do List?

1. French door spooks
2. Lamp bats
3. The chandelier!
4. Tipsy hurricane lamps
5. Fall Tablescapes
6. That dresser. Maybe. If it doesn't rain
7. Whatever else breaks spontaneously. Like the reupholstering job I didn't mention. Oh, and maybe the ceiling will get done
C'mon. You know how weekend chores go.

You guys amaze me with all you manage to get done in one weekend. I am tired just reading your list. Hope it is a good one. Hugs, Marty

Wow - I LOVE those sculptures! How cool are those? We've got quite a list for this weekend, too... I'm crossing my fingers that it won't rain, too - I've got a dresser to redo, as well! :)

At least I'm not the only one who was thinking about waffle-legs when that chair appeared...

I hope you do the candle-shells-sand-glass hurricane project... just sayin.'

I'd love to see a video of them wrestling with the dishwasher. It's things like that that make me feel like I'm not alone in my DIY distaster in the middle projects.

I am in love with those chairs! And your husband's t-shirt. Awesome!
