One Night Stand?

http://sunnyslifeinrehab.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-can-be-influenced-by-threats.htmlNah, we'll do them both.

If you have children, you'll get this: the kids get new stuff first, we as parents are on the back burner.
That's just how it works. So while the Minions have gotten new pieces, we've taken the cast offs and cobbled together a functional bedroom. Disgusting and dingy, mismatched, and not in a charming, shabby way. I lock our room when people are over.
This needs to change.

Our first victims in the furniture department are bedside tables. I like them to tower a few inches above the bed so I can't knock anything off of them with my wild somnambulistic flailing, and these have phenomenal storage, so we're keeping them. Surprise. Surprise. Surprise.
 First haul these babies outside.
Then, with a stiff dry nylon brush, give them a good scrubbing to get all of the dust and dirt off. Do you like how discolored they are?
Start painting. I'm using Rustoleum Gloss White and my paint gun to save my fingers. (Do you have a paint gun yet? Go through the couch cushions and find $2.50. Go get one.)
I gave these three light coats of paint and allowed them to dry. While they were, Savannah and I ran to Home Depot to find some aqua glass knobs. We returned dejected, in utter defeat.
For now, they'll have white knobs until I make/find what I want.
Which really isn't so bad.
The room already looks lighter and brighter. Now, for my next piece of furniture...
UPDATE: We made KNOBS

Well, I thought they were super cute as is, but if they're beat up that changes things. They're cute in white, too!

Ironically, my boyfriend just complimented you in his second guest post that is up today. But he makes fun of spraypainting everything white. So you tell me, compliment or insult? :)

Oh they are great pieces and painted white they are so fresh and pretty. Can't wait to see the rest of the room all pulled together. Hugs, Marty

Thanks for the tip about paint gun. I am always a mess after I spray even the smallest thing.

They are much brighter. Do you have a Hobby Lobby? They have a ton of knobs. Cannot wait to see this room. We might get our bedroom done sometime in the next two years or not. hugs♥olive

Cute and fresh. Almost as fresh as the hilarious title of the post. You CRACK me UP! I totally demand that you make your own knobs for these.

Thank you, Ladies!

Note: go read the post on Jane's blog, it's hysterical!

Kelly, our World Market closed! But I'm going to look online, thanks for the suggestion.

Olive, nope, Hobby Lobby has evidently not invaded Florida yet.

Michelle L...that's actually Option B if we don't find perfection.

My cousin is a makeover queen. That white really wakes those night stands up. Love the knobs.

WOW! Those knobs! What a great idea! My nightstand is actually a desk where I sit to put on make-up. One night I got a little too restless and knocked a bottle of perfume off onto the ceramic tile floor. The smell was so strong that Rod went to sleep in the guest room!

It's amazing what a coat of paint will do! I bought one of those paint gun thingies and it didn't FIT on the spraypaint I had. So I was feeling rather mopey. Maybe I ought to try again and see if I can find one that actually works. They look amazing!

Spray paint. The cure for all evils! I'm thinking I can spray it on my stomach and butt and see if that helps them look better, too. Sigh.

Love the knobs! Will look at a paint gun thingie (don't you just love MUB's comments!?!)

Can't wait to see where you go with this outstanding makeover!

You are just outrageously cool.
