Today's Exciting Repair Job!

Don't forget to enter our CSN GIVEAWAY!!!

So, I know you scampered over here excitedly to see what weird and unusual things we've been up to today, and we're not going to disappoint! We did something we've NEVER done once in the whole history of our family!
We took a Minion to the emergency room.
Well, we went here first, but these Bozos have their hours listed as 8:00 AM, and when I called at 8:14, the guy in charge said, "Oh, you should have checked the website, we open at 9:00."
I did not know I needed to study for this.
So instead we drove to our favorite emergency room, the one I always take Mom to.
"Hey, Ms. P., long time no see! Your usual bed?"
They actually did recognize me.
Although this guy is smiling, he's not okay. He propped his foot on the back of the step ladder while reaching to touch up the top of a wall and came crashing down hard. On his elbow. Fracturing his shoulder.
Yesterday.
I feel like a bad mother.
This morning it was obvious there was a real problem, and well, here we are! We have something new to fix!
At least he can still text. His girlfriend needs quarter-hourly updates.
Since none of my kids have ever had so much as antibiotics, the double syringes, one of muscle relaxer and one of pain killer, hit him like a ton of bricks.
"Mom, I see sparklies. Is that okay?"

Relax. He's beached on the couch with his best friend making fun of him.
But now the painting will have to wait for Saturday to finish.
Wait, he's still got his other arm, right?

After all the safety lesson on how to use a ladder properly, he falls off a step stool. I swear...

Oh no! I hope he gets better soon! As least it seems he's doing pretty well with those painkillers, haha!

Oh no! Was he trying to get out of that massive paint job or what? I see sparklies that's a good one!!! Hope he's recuperating and not in too much pain. At least he can text.

The Minion is texting...haha, will they ever stop? I hope he recovers quickly and you certainly have been fortunate to have such healthy kiddos Sunny. What does his T-shirt say?

Oh, poor guy! I'm sure you're now deeply into a full day of spoiling him rotten. Tell him all the Interwebs are sending sympathy his way! Hope he isn't going to be in too much pain and has a super speedy recovery.

Oh no...that has to be a bad one to fracture too. At least he has the pain killers, if they don't take away the pain, at least he'll be too drugged up to care...oh wait, that's just what they told me when they gave a local once... Hope he feels better soon!

Perhaps the Minion shouldn't have decided to put himself in charge. hee

Also, how much do you just love places that call themselves "Urgent Care" centers but have limited hours. It was news to me that an accident before 9a or after 5p is an emergency, but not urgent. Someone oughta let Webster know so he can make some definitional modifications. =\

You are very lucky that that is your first trip with a child that old. My son started going to the ER at 2 and continued until he left home. His dr's file read "remove stitches...remove stitches...remove stitches." Thank your lucky stars.

Oh no! I hope he isn't in too much discomfort, poor guy. Pretty scary

Poor kiddo! Luckily it was just his arm and not something worse.

Poor minion, he'll now have to do the smaller job, like all the edges and stuff. I bet he'd much rather be up the ladder again!
Joking aside, I hope he's not in too much pain. I send him virtual tea and scones with LOADS of jam and whipped cream, that always makes everybody feel better.
Unrelated to this- Sunny, AVG just tried to convince me it blocked a threat on your site? I can't see any difference 'round here, just thought I'd let you know.

Yup...this is the one I missed! How's he doing now? I can relate to not rushing off the the ER right away....I usually wait til the "real problem" is obvious too! ;-)
