Not a Creature Was Stirring

Twas the month of Christmas, and all through the chateau...
...were small feline faces just raring to go.
All entrances guarded with cat expertise.
There'd be no swipage of our tasty treats.
Ever so vigilant, the Overlords stood guard.
All I did was bake; their job was hard.
They pretended to slumber, a plan brilliant in purity
Giving the vermin a false sense of security.
Are the lemon bars safe? Were the cats wrong...
The Felines Overlords had known all along:
We heard him exclaim as he scurried on by,
"Mice prefer chocolate, just FYI."

OMG! I'm sorry, but this is HILARIOUS!!! And your kitties sure are adorable. I'm sure they were just acting and sometime soon they might leave you a "present" just when you least expect it.

This kitty post totally makes my morning. I'm slowly catching back up after this week of being away. We came home to find our Christmas tree still standing but both our cats had rearranged the majority of the ornaments. Thank you for all your sweet comments on my blog, Sunny. I'm ready to start enjoying the holiday season after so much "life" this past week.

oh. my. goodness. Please let me introduce you to a term originally coined by a dear facebook friend of mine, strangely enough also referring to mice (of the model clay type)... SQUEEFLAIL. When either *squee* or *flail* just won't do. I thought the post couldn't get any better when I'd arrived at the first picture of the sleeping ginger and white kitteh, but then ... a creature WAS stirring! I love mice, I love cats, and I sure love this blog! *squeeflail*
