Spring Cleaning Time!

Spring cleaning is about clearing out old junk...
 ...lightening up...
 ...making space and freshening surfaces...

What? You've never cut your lawn and found a car before?
Okay, fine, this was our old truck. She's just finally no longer feasible to fix,
and I'm going to miss her terribly.
Why?
Let's see you haul lumber in a Prius.
Which is what we replaced her with.
I need a truck.

That wasn't all we got done last weekend though.

The bar top got cleared off and then rearranged with summer entertaining items.
Who doesn't entertain with white wooden fish?

And if you'll turn around, you'll see we changed it up on the buffet.
Ignore the wheelchair ramp bottom left. I'm having trouble decorating around that.
If I may direct your attention to the lower right corner of the buffet, you will notice white
Feline Overlord paw prints.
That's Behr's Indoor Gloss White if any of you particularly like the color.

Sea shells...some of my favorite works of art.
And thank you Z Gallerie's clearance department! This little gem was $30; I stalked it down to $7.50.

So as a parting shot, that's a little of our tablescaping.
And that's my drapes thumbtacked to the wall in the background because our rods aren't back up.
And there's a reflection of me in a ratty sweater with the sleeves rolled up.
Oh look, a living room chair and a lamp from the Florida room.

MINIONS!!!

That is gorgeous! I love it, and I spied your blue cabinets in the kitchen...I have never seen those before. The whole buffet and vignette is very very nice!~!Have a great weekend. XO

Thanks, Sunny, I needed cheering up. This post was good for three LOL's, and I mean literally laugh out loud! Good job I'm currently on my own ;)

What glorious color!...such a happy, happy house. The buffet looks super, there again the colors all just pop!

I know what you mean about a truck. I have a 1980 Toyota pickup that I call my 'mulch truck' and it makes your old truck look like a million bucks...but it continues to run and as long as I live here I need it. The funny thing is that everyone wants to buy it, apparently it is a very popular truck...who would know.(-:

I LOVE the color combinations and the tablescape! Feline Overlords know just how to add that special touch.

Love it. You are so cute and your bar and buffet are gorgeous. Of course you know that I would drool over your cloche and apothecary jar. Stunning. Hope you have a super weekend. Hugs, Marty

Everything looks great. And knowing you, it won't be long until you come up with some idea to decorate the wheelchair ramp!

I LOVE your fresh spring decor! You did a wonderful job with them! I'm also envious of that fantastic Z Gallerie candleholder you scored... what a great find!

I have to admit, I looked and looked at that last photo, but I could not find any minions!!

I just turned in my old reliable roomy minivan for a Soul. A KIA Soul not another person's soul ;) I hear ya on the reduced ability to do anything renovationy in that.....so I sneakily replaced my husband's car with a pick up. I'm going to hell.

LOL

I love getting rid of some junk!

We now have a Soul and a Prius after having previously owned that truck and a Durango. I have room for drywall screws and Goop. Maybe a nail. And spray paint if I tie it across the hood like a deer.

hehehe, the kitty feet on the dresser is classic. We have little gray paw prints across the dining room carpet :0)

Hmm. Did you really have a dead truck parked in your yard? Surely you can repurpose it somehow. :)
LOVE that Z-Gallerie candle holder.

PS: Came back to say nice photos - really nice - and I love how the springy decor looks!

Oh, and in the close-up photo of you holding the camera, I love how the turquoise paint in the further rooms peeks in through the doorways. Looks great with the lime green - it's all so cheerful!!

That's a dead truck beyond fixing? It looks alive to me. What's his problem?

It's been a full day of shopping and the infamous Justin Bieber movie. I'm indulging in your blog and so glad to end my night with your spring cleaning post. Always entertaining and inspiring!

Happy Weekend!

Yay for Spring cleaning and truck removal! The place is looking great!! Love seeing all the blues and greens!

Our weekend was pretty quiet which I needed and it's a 3 dayer so I'm still in weekend mode.
