The First Thing I'm Fixing...

First, thank you for ALL the compliments and feedback yesterday!
I write this blog for you, so it's important to me that you're comfortable with it, it loads well, and that I'm making some small amount of sense.
And I went into this knowing I'm no photographer.
I wasn't previously allowed to touch the camera,
even when I owned one.
So my photos are going to be the first thing I fix.
The making sense all the time is probably just going to get worse.
You've been warned.

So, visitors to Rehab, I hereby pledge...
...an end to dark photos like this. Which I was going to use until I read those comments.
And an end to blurry things like this. You can't tell what this is beyond a blunt object.
Dark AND blurry? Gone.
I will hereby endeavor to only use photos that will clearly display what I've done, no matter how odd or abnormal.
Like taking 10 glass roses from the Dollar Tree and stuffing them in a vase...
...filled with $3 worth of plastic diamonds from Walmart.
Get it? Diamonds and roses? Listen, it was easy and took me 10 minutes.
Whoa, that one snuck by me, sorry about that! Won't happen again.
Hey, what the....????
SAVANNAH!!!
Ahem, as I was saying, only clear, well lit photos for you guys from now on.
Wait, what do you mean work on my backgrounds? No one said a darn thing about that!

You are so funny. I love this. You just keep being you, that's the best part of your blog. Love it. Hugs, Marty

I always look forward to your blog for your brilliant sense of humor and your equal passion for Halloween.

Admittedly, the brighter photos are better. We should be able to see all of your hard work, right?

What's that in your basket? lol

I am sorry I missed the post yesterday, I was on the road. I love your blog and that you share so freely with us. I grieve over my own photos so I am in no position to critique others but the ones you showed today in good light do look good..How did you get them so bright? Oh, wait..you have sunshine where you live, maybe that's it.
Have a great day!

The ODDER and more ABNORMAL, the BETTER! Ooh, that arrangement looks rich and luxe. Sounds like you had a good experience with your fans' loving critiques?

Bright and shiny and cleaver...what could be better! I think that getting good pictures is the hardest thing about blogging, especially interior pictures. I am new at photography too so I know exactly what you mean.

Those photos look fab!! I have found that a strong flashlight lamp in one hand and camera in another can work wonders. That is until someone sees you doing it and wonders What the Hell?
:)

I agree with Marty! Just keep being YOU! Personally I wouldn't change a thing except maybe put a HOME button at the top of the blog. I know you can click on your banner to get back home but I don't know if everyone knows that.
I like the look of your new tabby-doo-hickeys at that top of each post too.

So jealous of 70 degrees and open doors. We have ice showers and glazing going on...(sigh)

The new photos look great. I really struggle with my photography. Taking good photos is not easy. Photography is really an art form.

Keep on doing what you're doing. I love your blog!!

I love your blog...hence I'm your stalker lol Love the roses :) Love you..don't change :)

Tip for the photos: check your manual, there should be a setting for micro (on mine it's a little flower on the dial). It'll help keep those up close shots from getting all blurry. Also setting your white balance will help with colors. Even point and shoots should have a manual functions for these that you can set for any of the auto settings. Hope that helps a little :)

Until you get paid to do this, I wouldn't worry about your pictures too much. We'll just trust that our readers will love us for our stunning good looks and sparkling wit.

And in my case, pity :)

I've got to get to the dollar store - those roses are great!
