It's finally Saturday.
Saturdays, no matter what you have on tap, are magical.
It's a day when you reach for your most comfortable clothes,
and even chores feel more leisurely.
So let's grab some shorts and flipflops.
Go ahead.
You're all honorary residents of paradise today.
We have one day of work left at Mom's to get it to the point
where she can sleep there tonight.
I'll get draperies up today so the residence loses its fishbowl quality.
But for the most part, she's unpacked.
Now comes the big stuff.
An old friend of mine, a retired contractor, arrives Wednesday night.
Mark is dropping his life in New Jersey for a month to get Mom's house
completely gutted and remodeled.
And guess what, Besties?
He's offered to teach The Redhead everything he knows!
Those of you who have been around for a while remember things like me sledging
out a burned out room, framing walls, flooring going in, and countless other
heavy duty projects that got stalled when I got sick.
I'm better now.
Let the destruction begin!!!
Grab your work boots, because starting on the 15th,
it's construction time again here at Life in Rehab!
And you guys are invited to come along and learn with me.
'Bout time, huh?
So.....
Headed for Home Depot.
BRB.
If not back, avenge death.
