Okay, so we got the big dresser done.
Great.
Then we bought and assembled the day bed.
Fabulous.
The space over lapped in an awkward way.
Bummer.
Fortunately, the neighbors curbed a dresser and nightstand combo that were a little smaller.
Huzzah!
And with the removal of the heart stickers, they had potential.
Sweet.
Nice enough, huh?
Okay, there's a reason it was on the side of the road.
But this is not going to discourage me. Because I'm a little crazy.
So let's remove the ugly brass hardware...
...scrape off the stickers...
...and give it a go, shall we?
We need to rough up this shiny surface with a little sanding.
The peeling seams need smoothing too.
And the whole thing needs a serious cleaning. But that's okay, it'll be worth it.
The Minion crew is on it.
And we're committed to cool results.
So let's get started.
We'll call in the Feline Overlord Inspection Team.
The project is deemed ready to undertake.
Mom took over on the paint part.
The top was given three coats of Rustoleum Gloss Black, then, while still wet, crumple plastic wrap on the surface to give it a textured look.
Give the hardware a couple coats of silver, the rest of the chest three coats of satin aqua, and we have this!
Not looking like something you'd find on a street corner now, eh?
The nightstand has a little more story to go.
But yeah, this should fit Mom's new space a little better.

SCORE!! What great curbside finds. Awesome makeovers. The minions are trained well. Nicely done.
Wow and oh my gosh! I can't believe you found them in the trash! They look stunning!!!! Love the colors and the hardware!
love this color combination!
Dang girl, that looks awesome! If the neighbor sees it now, LOL, they will want it back!
Love a good makeover story. You have nice neighbours.
It's awesome, Sunny! Could you explain a little more how you did the plastic wrap texture on the top, please? I like that effect.
It will be so nice for your mom, wish we had stuff like that on our curbs...looks great!
Sure, TRU. I just took plastic wrap and crumpled it on the surface for about 15 minutes, then lifted it off. Easy stuff!
You are the master of finding the stuff to redo Sunny. The hat is off to you! Glad the Feline Overlords gave the okay on the project. Please come to PA & help me with this mess I walked into......
I was trying to link up with your Alphabe-Thursday post, but was brought here. Nice work on the dresser. You did a truly amazing job!

The crinkled plastic wrap is a GENIUS idea! I love seeing things like foil etc get put to use outside of the kitchen. And hey, FREE? Score

You did a awesome job! I love that you chose the same blue as the blue in your header.
Lovely! I adore anything aqua colored, but this has got to be one of my favorite transformations! Yay for finding junk on the side of the road. =)
One man's junk is another man's treasure! The dresser looks great I love that you painted the top black love.love.
