I stumbled upon this great faux suede fabric in the remnant bin at Joann's Fabrics for the insane price of $3. I also grabbed a spool of black gingham ribbon with the vision of whipping up some cozy and coordinated Thanksgiving decor in my colors. We're going to make a table topper right now, and you don't even have to drag out the sewing machine.
You're just going to need:
Fabric
Ribbon trim to go around the dimensions
Scissors
Hot Glue

Hot Glue
This particular piece was not cut square, so I figured out how to best get the size I needed plus two inches for a hem while leaving the most fabric left over. I cut it on the actual table I'm covering, no measuring involved.
After that, it was a matter of folding the hem over and hot gluing it down.
Then I cut the ribbon the length of the side plus two inches and hot glued it on the right side of the fabric, hanging over just a little, and glued the ends under with the hem.
I used plain black on the sides and back to conserve the gingham ribbon.
And then let's top it with lots of fun things from around the house in cream and aqua.
And a few little mementos to remind us we're fortunate enough to reside in coastal Florida.
Now the blue pumpkins make sense, don't they?
I love the way they all just blend into that mirror.
This little recycled cheese dome seems to pop up in a lot of my vignettes.
Let's get a little beachy this week with some fun Fall projects, shall we?
I even promise there will be a touch of orange. Really.

I just decorated my mantle with a black and white theme for Thanksgiving, but I'm loving the aqua too!
Looks great Sunny! Love the colors together. You say you are going to use some orange? I am on the edge of my seat waiting for that! Whatever you do I am sure it will be awesome! Kudos on the table topper & so easy.
Whoa, Nellie! What a fab tablescape! And gorgeous pictures. And LOVE the no-sew project, I think it looks so vintage and perfect. So I can hot glue instead of sew? Why was I not informed of this? Can I make my own clothes this way? p.s. You still amaze me with your mix of kooky projects and downright elegant ones.
*gasp*...beach love! aquagasm! need 12 step sponsor.....
I really love that! The aqua is so calming. I really love the white pumpkin with the star fish!
Love it! That vignette is gorgeous! :) You did a great job. I think my fav is the aqua pumpkins... or maybe it's still that fabulous mirror. Love it!

talking about orange... have you ever given blue things a wash with orange...
like paint +lots of water: and rub it on/poor it over and then rub it off....
now I'm giving away that i'm actually a painter at heart....
after i would finish a painting I would give each artwork a final wash with orange. this would give the most delicious patina and seeming make all the colors blend. and most particular, it would make the blues sooo good, with just a tiniest hint of seawater in it... that tiny bit of aqua/teal...
anyhow, i came here not to share that bit of painting nostalgia with you, but rather to .... thank you for sharing your tutorial at the DIY CRAFT TUTORIAL linky party at http://www.FineCraftGuild.com
I love this idea of all the blue (where there normally is orange and other traditional color)
Hope you also found some tutorials in the party for projects that interested you ...
See you back next Wednesday, we hope, and meanwhile, have a creative week,
Rose
Love the aqua. And I'm totally into anything that avoids the sewing machine. Ha! Thanks for linking up to my Commercial Break!

You certainly are creative! I have never thought of using my glue gun for hemming. It all looks great and, again, with some very unique colors for fall, you have pulled it all together beautifully! I could have never dreamed of starfish and pumpkins in the same display! Thanks for linking up at Ain't She Crazy!
Now that is an autumn display I can really love! I hate oranges and browns, but love aqua. Your display is gorgeous!
How pretty this vignette is! The display and the idea is fantastic.

I have to say, I like seasonal decor that still "fits" with the year-round look. This blue setup is great!
