Chaos Preview

So welcome to Casa de Redneck, a place where dressers and dining room tables coexist peacefully in the living room. As do semi-hairless mutts and AKC showdogs. Thank goodness they hit it off, but then Arwen is an extremely social dog.
Bringing my mother home to the mess was a little weird. Add that the movers had packed her luggage so she had no clothes, and the meter approaches ridiculous.
If you'll excuse me, the only furniture NOT in my living room is my living room furniture. That's in the fire room. And I'm going to get some bookcases painted before I bring them back in. All this weekend. Yes, I'm serious.
(Hey, don't my floors look awesome?)
The dryer IS working, and we're also furiously doing load after load of laundry. Which is a good thing, because I don't think my mother is really a Green Day fan, ya know?

the floors DO look great! Will you post more pictures of your planter when the plants grow out some more? I love that idea!

The floors look *singing this* AMAZING! Your mom is so hip in her Green Day t-shirt texting on her mobile! Love it!!

Can't wait to see the book cases in the room (and painted).

Mel and Heather,
She DOES look like she's texting! She's actually just dialing her minister's wife in a borrowed T-shirt from Savannah's collection though. But she IS pretty hip, I have to say, especially for 69.

Heather, Thom is putting the final coat on the bookcases as I type! And thank you for the compliment on the floors. I'm just in total love with them.

Aubrey, I promise I'll do a follow up as it fills in, plus I have other projects in that area, so you'll get to see it grow. And if you decide to build your own wall, please share the results with us!

Just found your blog. Love the title! Your house project sounds daunting. I'll grab a paintbrush and help when you holler.

Looking forward to following along. :)

We will hopefully have all of our internet issues resolved in a day or so. Mt Mac Mini isn't interested in working off of its wireless card for more than a half hour at a time, the kids' laptops have no power (the cord got destroyed), and we're all going into tech withdrawal!

The chaos is all worth it!

P.S. Those floors DO look lovely! :)
