The text from Sam was simple:
The appliance guy is at the house. He hooked the dryer up to the breaker box. It runs fine.
Of course it does.
My hubster was right all along, as usual. There was no neutral in the laundry room. Which means the old dryer was probably fine.
Those of you offended by harsh language, cover your eyes.
I texted this to the contractor with a very simple, “When will this be fixed?”
Suddenly, he knew what was wrong! “The day of the final inspection they made us change the ground bar in the panel, thus bypassing the neutral. We will split the new ground bar thus jumping ground to neutral. All the pieces make sense.”
Well that would be just kick-you-in-the-teeth fantastic.
