Gazebo, Part Tres

June. The rainy season in South Florida. A spray painting crap shoot at best.
Let my Myer Lemon tell you of the progress we made yesterday.
But we did get full coverage on our eight cinder blocks and sixteen 22" lengths of pine board with the Dark Bronze paint, so we decided to see how much we could possibly knock out.
Wells is becoming concerned about the exposure the orchids are getting to the sun.
I have too many supervisors.
Thom, Samwow and I hit the yard early and hauled our stuff up on the patio.
We stacked the cinder blocks so that the gazebo would be raised 16 inches, giving us plenty of clearance.
We set the four corner trellises on the stacked cinder blocks, then sandwiched the trellises with the lengths of 2x4. See how they nestle right under that handy little plant shelf? That's part of the plot.
So far, so good.
The French doors have plenty of room to open now.
Samwow nabbed a 5/16 drill bit.
Thom got the 1/4x6" carriage bolts...
...we marked our drill holes carefully for each footing...
...double checked...
...made sure we were happy with the room the doors had...
...laid the bolts out...

...and found out SOMEONE hadn't
plugged in my drill!!!

Fine. To be continued...

I am on the edge of my divan! (I love watching you guys work like feinds doing heavy construction, while I daintily dink around with tiny jewelry components.) Your cinder block rises are so smart! Very classy painted this color, and I love how neatly everything fits together.

That usually happens to me with my camera battery! I get all ready to photograph for a blog post, and my battery is dead. So sorry!

I'm a bit jealous of your ability to grow lemons. Apparently we have perfectly good weather 11 months out of the year, but during that last month the foot of snow isn't exactly citrus-friendly. I can't say I'm jealous of your hurricanes though...

This is looking really good...you are all so ingenious. I don't think that you have ever come up with a problem that you couldn't solve. Have a super day!
