Yeah, you know the pillows.
Those chic, designer embroidered pillows with coral motifs that run $80?
Love.
The price tag? I'm sorry, but I can't be with you. For now.
Yeah, but this placemat is close.
And the price tag??? Let's run off to Vegas, Baby!
You're gonna need:
1. A double layer placemat
2. Needle and thread
3. Pins
4. A stitch Ripper
5. Stuffing
First, carefully rip a six inch section of hem right out.
Separate the layers so you have a pocket.
Stuff the cavity and pin closed.
Tiny stitches to mimic the originals.
Set the $3 pillow on your couch. Gloat. Repeat.
$4 placemat from Target yesterday.

Love this idea! I'll never look at placemats the same way again.
Wow! What a great idea! Time to go find some cheap placements now. :)
Nothing like brightening a room for a song!

Love this idea!! Thanks for linking @Creative Itch's "Sew Cute Tuesday"!
OH these are great!!! I love them both, but that coral pillow needs to be at my house! ;) I'm going to have to check out placements on my next trip to the store. Thanks for the idea!
Beverly, my pleasure, and thanks for stopping by!
Misty, your party is so cool, I appreciate being a part.
I've GOT to go check out placemats!!! Easy AND beautiful!!!! Thanks for sharing!
So chic!! I love the coral one. It looks like something you'd pay an arm and a leg for at Ballards.
Very nice! My mom liked to take the tapestry mats and stitch two together for a pillow, this seems even easier!
So cute! I love that it's simple and I love the bright colored fabric too!!!

What a great idea. I love it!
Beautiful! I too admire those pricey pillows, but $80 for one little accessory that we're going to SIT ON? I don't think so. I like your version better!!
