I have a thing for Crate and Barrel, and everyone knows it.
When they came out with the Pixie Tealight line, I was stone cold in love.
My children recognized this and gave me that cool 5 candle horizontal piece for Christmas one year, because they have good taste and all. But I longed for some companion pieces with...a little more height perhaps?
You know me and my drama.
The tall vases are from Dollar Tree, $1 each obviously.
Those little candle cups are from Michaels, $2.49 apiece.
And you'll need silicone adhesive, tiny shells or other decorations, and tealights.
Let's get this started.
Take two of the tall vases and one of the candle cups.
Slather some of our wonderful waterproof clear adhesive onto the base of the candle cup.
Center it in the bottom of a vase.
Turn the other vase upside down and give it a spiral pattern of the silicone.
Set the other piece on top of it, straighten everything, and let it dry.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Take a break, get something cold to drink.
Once dry, carefully drop some tiny shells, bits of seaglass, or whatever strikes your fancy
Into the base of the top of your candle.
Add water until you're an inch from the top of the candle cup.
Drop in the tealights.
Take a completely unnecessary amount of pictures to make sure you got at
least a couple where people can tell what you did.
I was really pleased with the way these turned out, and at $4.50 each and almost 15 inches tall? They'd make great wedding centerpieces on the cheap, not to mention you could change them up for any holiday.
