The First Day of Catmas

We at Life in Rehab are proud to present...

Wells the Cat
The Twelve Days of Catmas!
A dozen days of last minute projects so easy, your pets could do them!
So if you're stressed out and running behind, settle in with some
non-fat pumpkin spice soy nog and get ready to dazzle your friends and family with some
offerings that will astound and amaze!
Okay, maybe not, but you won't be showing up empty handed either.
Ready?
First, we're going to take those plain Dollar Tree wreaths at the top left and haul them outside.

3 light coats of aqua spray paint later, we have a great base for a pair of really easy wreaths.

Joanns has most of their Christmas stock on sale for 60% off, so the gorgeous peacocks were only $2 and the wired garland with silver beads came in at $2.79.

Using wire edged ribbon, loop a 3' length through the wreath and tie a bow. I hung these on the french doors with 3M Command Hooks.

Slide the garland through the ribbon and center the middle of it at the top of the wreath.

Drape the ends across the bottom of the wreath so it's fuller there.

 Tuck in the hanging loops.

With a small piece of wire, secure the garland to the center bottom.
Hide the wire by clipping on a peacock.

 You're done.

 Simple and shimmery.

No hot glue needed, and it's almost fool proof, plus it took less than 15 minutes to make both of them, minus time for the paint to dry.
How easy is that?
And the pair of them were less than $12!

Your cat is hysterical! How did you get the cat to wear the costume and pose?

Your peacocks are just divine. What a dramatic/elegant wreath. The kitty santa is equally fun. I'm pretty sure Josie would loving chasing our Penny around the house with a stocking hat. Not gonna happen...hee hee.

Mrrrow. A glorious, glorious wreath! Want those peabirds! The 12 days of Catmas is destined to be my favorite thing you have ever done on the blog. Can't wait for the next 11.

What an expression on Kitty Claus(or should it be Claws?)! Looking forward to those last minute ideas!
If I have coffee, eggnog or a latte, I've gotta go with "the real thing"! :-)

Fabulous - and I love the "catmas" title! :) Maybe YOU can haul them outside to spray paint, but up here we woke up to snow on the ground...so not so much!

I want that darn cat. And you don't need two wreaths, just send one over, k? I spent three hours on a wreath today, and now that I saw yours I wanna just spray paint it aqua and stick a fancy bird to it. Dammit.

Excellent and gorgeous! I can see this pair of wreaths as a decor accent all year long. Love your patio, too, especially the fact that you'll never have a foot of snow out there.

While I love the project, the spray cans are not working well in our below zero temps outside.
And trying to do it indoors would result in a turquoise cat for Christmas!

Nice wreath-like colors and the bird, too. Happy Holidays.
