This is not a project post, be forewarned. This is for my lovely readers (stop it, you're all just hug-you-like-a-bunny adorable) who continue to send me sweet emails or ask about Mom in their comments, and I thought it was high time you got a post of all GOOD news!
If you need a refresher on our past misadventures, click HERE.
First of all, she's steadily progressing. She's in great spirits and planning for the future. We have close family friends that visit her also, so she stays buoyed.
Mother is now sitting up in a wheelchair, and is taking 20 steps with a walker in rehab. She's slowly regaining use of her left side, and I can honestly notice improvement every morning! She's up to 119 pounds too!
We did not, unfortunately, make the Thanksgiving goal of bringing her home, so we packed up pumpkin pie, hot cider, and the dog and headed over there that morning for a little visit.
This little tree, freshly decorated by Thom, is in her room now since we decided to have her back surgery scheduled and done as long as she's still there. (Remember her spinal stenosis? The thing I moved her down here to fix in the first place?) We're looking at a couple more months, but in the meantime, I'm going to plan her mother-in-law quarters and hire a contractor to get that under way since she just can't navigate the downstairs bath in a wheelchair!
Which means I can sledge that bath apart...
While I redo the kitchen in stages...
After we paint...
And design the gazebo...
And resurface the patio...
What time can you guys be here again?
Now scroll down for an actual project.

What a bunch of good tidings. Hooray for your mom and all the loving family and support surrounding her. And you sound a little too gleeful about sledgehammering stuff! (Okay, it's fun - I love a sledgehammer!)
Great update! Glad to hear your Mum is rallying. Mine is in the hospital emergency and has been for 2 days...send me some of those healing vibes you're getting from the cosmos, babe! Take care of you too, it all falls to shit if you fall apart, right? Right.
Great news. I was just thinking about you guys and wondering on her progress!!! She's so blessed to have your family nearby.
I know you can't wait to do that demo!
I really wish I could be there to help! Sounds like you have your hands full but I am so glad to hear that your Mom is making progress!

Good to know as I have prayed for her daily. Thanks be To God for answered prayer. I see where you get your tenacity from! ♥O
*Snoopy Dancing to Schroder's piano*. So happy for you.
By the time Mom moves in, she'll be able to walk around the house at this rate. Wonderful news, she must be hard as nails. Hooray for Mom!Should fate sort of blow me over to your place in a hurricane (I can try and drop the house on someone you dislike, any preferences?), I'll totally help with the building work. Gimme a hammer.
So glad to hear the good news, Sunny! Great progress...please keep us posted!
