If you are afraid of lizards, Florida is not for you. We have them everywhere. I once found a nest of eggs in my linen closet. One lives in the lucky bamboo in my upstairs bathroom. I have another that lurks by my desk, hiding behind the bookcase and hovering near the lamp.
Why do we put up with this? Simple. These guys are our natural exterminators. Woe to the moths that mistake my desk lamp as the sun! My little office accessory leaps into action and plucks them mid-air in full flight!
Same thing in the bathroom; if you're a winged creature circling the vanity fixture, you might as well be courteous and season yourself well. You're about to be eaten.
And I'm going to watch. And chuckle in repressed twisted glee.

My son would LOVE Florida (where I was born and lived til I was 6) He loves lizards and most creepy crawlies. He has a pet tarantula but is really wanting to get a lizard. Namely a chameleon.
Yes Sharon is my mom ! I don't know how cool I am but I discovered yesterday she has passed yet another condition on to me.(besides spray painting EVERYTHING !) The condition where your ideas get so big and grand the one project alone cannot possibly hold them all. :o)
I took a trip to Hawaii last year and they were EVERYWHERE too. In restraunts, hotel rooms, everywhere!! I thought they were adorable. I caught one that was smaller than a paperclip in my hotel room one night and was like a little kid squelling and laughing.
Fun stuff!
These lizards are just hysterical. Sammy thought they were dinosaurs when he was little, which still makes me laugh.
That is so cute that he thought they were dinosaurs! My son would think that is really cool (he's 4 & totally into dinos)
