Oh Deer Me!

He's cute, right? It's not just me?
He was staring at me from the shelf at Target.
"Take me home, I love you!"
The $12.99 price was a deal breaker.
But then there was his widdle face AGAIN, on a placemat, sporting a much more acceptable $3.99 tag.
Fine, get in the cart. Bring your friends.
And BEFORE you say, oh, I know this one, stay tuned.
Gather your gear! You'll need:
A holiday placemat
Scissors
Needle and thread
Ribbon
A stitch ripper
First, rip out one end of the placemat carefully, and clean up any loose threads.
Open it up and decide on placement for the ties.
Trim your ribbon into 6 nine inch lengths.
Stitch them in pairs to the inside of the placemat.
Slip the placemat pillow into the open end.
 Tie it shut.
Toss it on a chair for a festive touch. And remember, on captains chairs, this will coordinate nicely with placemats used as...placemats.
The best part? Storage is a breeze!

  1. I {heart} your reindeer pillow. I need to get braver with anything remotely close to sewing. I might be able to handle this....might.

  22. I am always left wondering where you even think of these things. What a smart idea! I do not have the budget to buy every little thing I like, so I love the idea of looking at it from a different angle...and still getting what I want (of course). :)

    Thanks, Sunny!
