I Can Be Influenced by Threats

Michelle of the very cool blog Mich L. in L.A. liked my nightstand redo, but she DEMANDED that I make my own knobs. Hey, why not?

Besides, these pretty glass ones? 1 3/4 inch glass knobs, $8.99 each. Plus shipping.
That's not happening.

These plain, flat silver ones? $1.27. I stuck them in a chunk of florist foam and grabbed my Goop.
I squeezed a generous amount of it on each knob, then arranged bits of seaglass, flat backed marbles and tiny shells on them, then dolloped more Goop on top as a protective coat. If you've never worked with this, it's completely clear and dries to a rubbery finish, which makes it excellent in plumbing projects. That's how we initially found each other.
We'll allow this to dry overnight, and then tomorrow, I'll have sparkly new knobs.

Thanks for bullying me, Michelle! I actually like these a whole lot better!

  1. Oh. My. Gawd. Those are funny, beautiful, outrageous and weird, and I totally love them! I would never in a billion years have thought of this, now I am running out to the garage for Goop. I shall absolutely bully you again in the future, missy, if this is the result!

Gorgeous idea, I would never have thought of it. Ever.

  5. Can you show a finished nightstand photo with the knobs all together? I like the close up but I want to see it all now! Should I get bossy? :)
