So you may remember this fabric from THIS project. It's a predominant fabric in the new home office, which is about to get torn apart to put floors down. Be quiet. It's been 9 months since the fire,
I'm stir crazy.
At any rate, my only pin cushion is a wrist model, and I wanted something more handy,
so here's what I did:
Get together a small easel frame from the Dollar Tree, a scrap of fabric, fiber fill and a glue gun. Do not plug the glue gun in. I didn't even use it. Just show off the fact that you have a fancy glue gun. Amaze your friends. That's right, gloat.
Don't start this unless you have at least 5 minutes of uninterrupted time. Open the frame and remove the glass. Hold onto it. You'll need it. I don't know why, but you will. You know that's how it works.
Take your fabric scrap and poke it through the frame.
Stuff it. No, not you. The frame.
It should have a nice, plump silhouette.
Fold the back together.
Replace the back of the frame.
Adjust the form with a tug or two.
Add pins. You're done. And tell me this isn't cute!
For a dollar? Coordinated on my desk? It's AWESOME. Now go dig some change out of the sofa and make one!
I can't tell you it isn't cute. It is cay-ute!!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I've been wanting an easier to use pin cushion. I use one of those tomato things, but the pins just don't poke into them as easily as I'd like. I'm actually giving a sewing basket to a cousin as a wedding shower gift. She may get one of these too!
