Thom has a very challenging course load this semester for a college freshman.
On his actual birthday, the child left for his lab early by city bus,
and was home after 10:00 that night.
He works very hard to keep that scholarship.
I've been very sick the last couple of days and useless as a Mom.
I felt terrible that I'd done nothing to celebrate it.
He gave me a hug last night and said,
"There's always tomorrow."
Do I feel better today?
You bet I do.
Autism teaches you that anything is possible if you want it badly enough.
If you're just tuning in, both of my capable boys are autistic;
they're both on full academic scholarships.
If you've recently been handed a diagnosis, accept no limitations.
Don't even get me started on the daughter.
But where are these shoes headed today?
Headed for Barnes and Noble, GameStop, and Dollar Tree. BRB.
If not back, avenge death.
Glad you're feeling better! Your boys are brilliant, kind, hilarious and talented...the autism running a distant fifth!!! Ain't it cool that you have children who take the time to understand how YOU feel? Not many mothers of teenagers can say that. I LOVE YOUR FAMILY!
