The battle to paint the downstairs rages on! 
And you're just dying to know who's winning, aren't you?
Come along with me, and bring a scorepad.
 Young men I paid to do the job in January: 2.
Number of colors we're working with: 5.
Magnetic door primer, coat number 472.
 Tape up the room again to start over, incident 38.
Drips on my brand new floors in spite of drop cloths: 13,694.
 Tight spaces worked with despite the fact that furniture moves: 42.
 Feline Overlords who succumbed to paint fumes: 1.
 Feline Overlords found to be faking it to get attention: 1.
 Vintage molding scraped and sanded to salvage it (in feet): 8.
Vintage molding scraped and sanded to salvage it (in feet, perceived): 5280.
 Lizards harmed: 0.
 Harassed: 1.
 Pursued: 1.
Husbands displaced to an outdoor patio with laptop: 1.
Feline Overlords joining him: 1.
Weeds pulled while out there, 0.

Redheaded homeowner: nothin'.

  4. The feline succumbing to fumes and then discovered to be faking it = best moment of my day so far! The scraping of antique molding is an absolutely gruesome job, and I am so happy you aren't doing it yourself.

    Great post and all the usual suspects plus lizard in great form!
