As I was saying, this vintage masterpiece is getting a serious beachy makeover, which I ran past Carolyn Reilly last night.
Do you love it? I do! Sam has a different opinion, but that may be the swell gilt finish coloring his vote. I think I can make it fabulous. So stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteI do! I love it! I can't even say exactly why, because I'm not usually a gold mirror fan. But I really, really love this one -- just the way it is. I think I'd almost be sad to see it made over (although the curves are so fantastic, I think it would be lovely in just about any color).

I was thinking turquoise with a wash of white over it. The only problem with leaving it gold is that all the metallic accents here are silver. But I'm glad you guys like it!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fab in turquoise. A touch of glam for whatever space you use it in. I have a hideous huge gold mirror that was my grandma's, and for that reason alone I will not part with it. I plan to paint mine, because I feel like some things that are over-the-top scrolly and ugly in gold can be just terrific in a bright, fun color.
