My paint crew, who are doing the surly paint splattered psycho mugs purely for your benefit,
are nearly done.
All of my colors that I've been plotting for the past 17 months are
coming together in a very vibrant, tropical way.
We just have a little detail and trim work left now.
...and of course, some straightening.
Sunday was all about unearthing the house.
Lemme tell you, it took a while.
I started with the ice box because I'd had a vision for a free arrangement using vases I already had and some palm fronds from the backyard.
I used an odd number of vessels with similar mouths but varying shapes and heights.
The fronds were trimmed of the lower leaves and just popped into the vases.
Simple, but a lot of impact.
Tha chalkboard wall is nearly done, and once it is,
I have a little freehand artwork planned for it.
The Minions LOVE it and were sketching on it all day.
I went simple by the big aqua mirror too.
Hey, guys, you missed the baseboards!
At the end of the day, once the place was uncluttered and serene,
we were all ready for a good flop on the couch and a nap.
Go ahead, YOU tell her that's the dog's bed.
So how do you like it so far? Are you diggin' the unconventional color,
or do you think I escaped from Ringling Brothers?
That arrangement looks soooo good! The different colored vases somehow, really work.
ReplyDeleteI like the dog bed! I've been looking to get a more stylish one than the one we currently have. Where did you find yours?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherri!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,I got it at Home Goods last Saturday. It's a heavy cotton duck with a zippered cover and VERY cushy- as Wells is demonstrating. It also only ran us $20, which made me ecstatic.
The blue and the green look so good together! The white trim really adds to the effect. Palm fronds in the vases ~ beautiful! I think you should be very, very happy.(-:
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the punch of color, and those palm fronds look great. Wish I had your vision.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI found your site via Kim K. Love the vases with the palm fronds...What an impact it does make! I wish we had some green around here. This East Tennessee weather is really getting on my nerves...Spring come soon!
I have some minions in my house who are four and eleven. That word has become popular at my house since the release of "Despicable Me".
Thanks for sharing your world with us!

It's coming together nicely. The colours totally fit the age and vibe of your home, as well as the location (can you imagine if I used those colours in my house up here in the arctic feeling north? ha ha).
ReplyDeleteThe vessel bottles are amazing! You already had those?
I'm loving the color combo! Your vase arrangement on the ice box is gorgeous and stunning in it's impact! So simple yet unique! My kids miss having chalkboard closets (from out last house)...I still hear about it from the little one. Her new doors wouldn't work so she's plotting a chalkboard area when we redo her room this summer.
ReplyDeletediggin' it big time, baby. For some reason, it made me think of beach bars and artsy hotels. I wish I had a palm tree to harvest from, England really sucks sometimes.

Wow. That arrangement of bottles against the lime green looks wonderful. So tropical and happy.
ReplyDeleteI like the vibrant colors. My husband is a lot more conventional then I am so we compromise on colors but that would be a great color for my office for it's next reincarnation!
Thanks for a perfect stop on our journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter 'P'.
And thanks for the smile.
A+
Loving this...the colors are great, and those bottles. WOW!
