Snow Blindness

Okay guys, this next one is a cinch, and you probably have all of the stuff just sitting around the house now, so let's throw this together!
Shop the house. Ready? This is going to be an arrangement using two enormous
silk tropical leaves I usually have on display.
You'll need a huge vase. Walmart sells this baby for $5, but I've had this for a decade.
Some LED lights. Confession time: I bought these at IKEA last weekend, 48 snowflakes for $15. Had to, sorry. And most of my lights were fire fodder, but I digress. Use LEDs because they stay cool for one, and
they're much more environmentally friendly.
Pine cones. Or Christmas balls. Shiny dreidels. Small kittens toys. Use your imagination!
Make sure you have adequate supervision.
Start layering your lights and filler in the bottom of the vase, arranging as you go.
Add the plants of your choice and keep tucking and winding.
Make sure the cord ends up at the back of the vase.
Your ten minutes is up! Time to plug it in!
Well now...
That pure white LED is gorgeous.
And this is as close to snow as I want to get.
We'll work on the tablescape while you guys go find some lights and a vase.

  1. I {heart} those IKEA lights. I especially love the furry supervision during this project. Are you sure I can't send you some of our white stuff? We've got quite a snowstorm on the way for this weekend!

  2. Looks really warm and cozy even if the are snowflakes! I wonder if I make one and sit around and look at it if I will feel warmer? Temp right now is 11 @ 7am!!! Unseasonably cold for the North Georgia Mountains! BRRRR....
I get to go to the "real world" today and will be visiting Joann's, Hobby Lobby and a real Dollar Tree! My heart is already beginning to race!

  14. You just crack me up. LOVE THIS! The snowflake leds and pine cones and big ole tropical leaves just holler Christmas in Florida. LOVE the nautilus shell on the white coral and the kittens, gorgeous. Will it make you feel better to know that I've already had snow (and power outages) here? Enjoy some warmth for me, wouldja?
