Grim Wreather

The Joann's hit Sunday was EPIC, people! And the little slide into Dollar General was wondrous as well.
We'll start with a metal glitter wreath of skulls in acid and black that I've struck up several casual conversations with in the past weeks. I even took it on a little ride around the store once or twice, but in the end, that $15 price tag was a deal breaker.

50% off on clearance? I'll shell out $7.50. And $2 for a 12' spool of ribbon. The feathery stuff was $1 at Dollar General marked as a Feather Boa. Oh, and you need a scrap of wire.
Flip over the wreath and you find that the skulls are attached to the hoop with U shaped arms.
I simply tucked the feather boa behind them.
Take 2 1/2 feet of wire edged ribbon and tie a bow. Now tie an identical one right on top with the ribbon streamers. At this point, it's still one piece of uncut ribbon.
Fold one of the ribbon ends over the center to hide the knots.
Use your scrap of wire to twist the ends of the feather boa together and wire the bow to the frame. Twist the remaining ends of wire into a hanging loop.
10 minutes well spent!
About $9.50 for this little gem.
If that's more than you want to spend, how about cardboard skulls all glittered up by your minions? Then glued to an embroidery hoop?

Here's to never leaving well enough alone!
And to never settling!
Right Sam?
Right?

  3. Boo-yah? *giggle-snort*

Thanks Sarah! I had such a crush on those skulls!

Dollar General isn't a true dollar store; it's a very cheap discount store with everything from cleaning products to food to clothes. A lot of it is pretty weird, but it's still a weekly hit for things like this.

Thanks, Chelsea, wait til you see the other one we made!
