You may have heard I got new floors throughout the house recently.
I'm kind of obsessed with them.
It never occurred to me that mopping with my usual blue flavored Pine Sol was probably the worst possible thing I could do to my laminate treasure.
Bad, bad Sunny.
After a lot of little research on line, it became clear that we needed something with less moist and more clean.
And we chose the O-Cedar ProMist Dry or Wet Cleaning System.
Cue the disclaimer:
I am in no way being paid to say this. In fact, I bought the mop. And it's cool.
The microfiber pads attach with velcro and pick up ANYTHING in their path like a magnet.
The trigger on the handle sends a squirt of the cleaning solution of your choice into the path of the mop. We used water, white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol in equal parts, which gave us a streak free clean that dried almost immediately. The only downside was that the house smelled like salad for an hour.
The pad ripped right off and joined the cleaning rags for a spa day in the Maytag, so it'll be fresh for the next cleaning spree.
This is also awesome for quick touch ups and it can be used with plain water. The kids love the environmentally friendly factor, and the fact that the mop bucket is staying put. I love that we aren't mopping with dirty water.
And I SERIOUSLY love my floors.
The price tag? $22.95 with two pads, and there's a $5 mail in rebate.
Thank you for doing the research for me. Looks like something I should get!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect answer. The floors are wonderful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when there would be a post on how to clean laminate flooring, what with so many people getting laminate now. We regularly vacuum to get any loose dirt, and every couple months use a wet swiffer rag to really scrub them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dishing on this wet or dry mop-thing, though - it's like our swiffer, only better! And I agree - WAY better than mopping with dirty water. :)

Is it geeky that the kids took turns using it?
ReplyDeleteI use to work for Merry Maids. We always used Murphy's oil soap diluted in water.Wet rag, wring out real well and wipe.In a pinch this could work for you and it leaves a nice lemon smell.
ReplyDeleteI've actually been looking at this and didn't want to buy it until I knew how it worked. So....Thanks! ;)
ReplyDeleteI use the Bona cleaners on my floors, which I also love. They make a laminate and tile spray with mop attachment as well. Here's to clean floors!
