Under the Dome

One thing about moving all of your stuff out of the house and then moving it back in: you do start to re-evaluate your possessions.

 

Take this cheese dome, for example. The wooden bottom has been through the dishwasher and is pretty much unfinished at this point. That's okay though; I have no recollection of the last time we used the thing. I also seem to be hoarding empty candle jars. There has to be a use for these, right?

 

So we're going to take Mr. Boring here...

 

 ...and give him three nice light coats of Rustoleum Aqua.

And let's take our little candle jar here and add some sand and shells.

 That's already better.

Now, let's run a bead of my favorite adhesive, Goop, around the top of the candle jar.

And we'll just set that aqua base right on top of it!

There you have it, a little seaside display, all fresh and summery, from things I had lying around the house. 

Well okay, the storage bin. But for free, I LOVE it!
