Sea My Glass?

Okay, so I spray painted some candlestick lamps a deep blue for our room, and although I loved the color, the plain white shades weren’t doing a thing for me. Savannah and I had searched craft stores and Wallies.com for ideas to give them a little seaside style, but we hadn’t come across anything we liked in 3 months. And then, like a Frisbee that keeps getting bigger and bigger, it hit me.

One of the floral arrangements in my house had a mix of shells and sea glass as vase filler. I took all of the sea glass out and some of the tinier shells and washed them, and then chose some flat backed glass marbles to go with the colors. I hot glued some thin blue ribbon around the bottom of the shades as a base, and then simply altered materials, sizes, and colors as I went. It was very free-form, which is just what I wanted.

I absolutely love the effect. I may post another picture of it lit; the light filtering through the glass has a wonderful glow.
